The Electoral Commission
The Electoral Commission is an independent body established by Parliament. Constitutional Affairs Committee (CASC)
The Constitutional Affairs Committee has also undertaken an inquiry into the issue of party funding. The Committee is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, policy and administration of the Department for Constitutional Affairs, which was the lead department on party funding, until the Prime Minister's announcement of 6 May 2006 transferring this brief to the Leader of The House of Commons. -
CASC published its First Report of Session 2006-07 on Party Funding in December 2006.
